Image Requirements
There are several basic requirements that an image must satisfy in order to be acceptable for use in creating your own wonderwall

Size

In order to create a wall sized mural, your original image will have to be enlarged - a lot. The larger a photo is printed the more the image quality reduces so it pays to start with as large an original photo as possible. If you are supplying us with a photo taken from a digital camera the camera must have a minimum resolution of 7 MegaPixels and preferably 10 MegaPixels. If you have a digital image from another source the file size should be around 30 MB. Please note that enlarging a photo from a lower resolution digital camera will result in a loss in quality and result in an unacceptable image.

Copyright

You must own the copyright for the image you are using. In short this normally means that you took the photo yourself. If you are using someone else's photo or image you must have permission to use the image (see terms and conditions). Images that are obviously copyright include football club logos, cartoon characters and images taken from publications. We are unable to create wonderwals from copyright images.

Technical Quality

Enlarging your image will tend to highlight any imperfections in your original image. It is important that your image is well lit, in focus and technically competent. Out of focus and blurry images or images with technical problems such as red eye or camera shake will not make good wonderwalls.

Content

While we are happy to print almost any image as a wonderwall, we reserve the right to refuse to print images that we regard as being offensive, illegal or inflamitory.

File Formats

We are happy to accept digital images in a variety of file formats including jpeg, tif or Raw. Images should be saved as RGB files. If you are sending jpeg images you should set file size to maximum or quality to best. If you are sending tiff files you should send them uncompressed.

Scanning originals

You may have the image you are planning to use as an original photo or print. In this case you will have to have the photo or print scanned. Most people have a digital scanner in the home, however these are often unsuitable for creating images of sufficient quality for use as wonderwalls. If you are having an original image scanned we recommend taking it to a local reprographics house or copy shop where they will have professional quality scanners. Please note that for logistical reasons we are currently unable to scan customers images for them.
