Why have a wonderwall instead of a mural?
Choice: We have dozens of illustrators to choose from so you will have no problem finding a style of illustration that suits you and your wall space.
Quality: We have collected the best illustrators together for you to choose from, with a traditional mural you are restricted to a mural artist who is close to you. Also, by printing onto wallpaper we can achieve a quality of illustration that simply cannot be matched by conventional hand painting.
Convenience: We deliver your wonderwall, ready printed, cut and sized, just like any other wall paper. It's easy to hang, and because it's just wallpaper, when you fancy a change you can simply strip it off and hang a new one. Compare this to a traditional mural. 10 coats of white emulsion and you can still see it showing through.
I have a picture I really like. Can I use that to make a wonderwall?
Yes you can. We can create a wonderwall from almost any image, including ones that you can supply yourself. So if you have a portrait of your family, a picture from a holiday or even a picture that one of your children drew at school, we can use it to create your very own wonderall.
Can you find an image for me?
Yes we can. If you are after a specific image for a mural just ask us and we'll do our best to find it. Obviously subjects such as The Grand Canyon, New York skylines or other famous landmarks are easier to find, but you never know what we may be able to turn up!
So, is it really just like wallpaper?
Yes it is. We print onto commercial wallpaper called Digimura. Digimura is world leading brand of wallpaper, designed specifically for the printing process that we use. The inks are colour and water fast. In addition we seal each wonderwall with a satin finish to protect it from the knocks and bumps that walls can get in children,s rooms. You simply unroll your wall, apply paste and hang it. Just like normal wallpaper. Full instructions are provided with every wall.
So will MY wonderwall be unique?
If you choose an original, yes it will. Your chosen artist creates a mural just for you. We will never sell that design, for a mural, to anyone else, it is created for you only and in a size to fit only your wall. Buying a wonderwall or colourwall means that other people may buy the same design, but each finished mural is sized exactly to fit your wall.
Can you fit a wonderwall around a door or window?
Yes you can. When you commission your artist you will have to tell us where any doors or windows are and what size they are. This information will then ensure that important parts of your illustration are not obscured in any way.
Are all walls suitable for hanging a wonderwall?
In short, if you can hang normal wallpaper, you can hang a wonderwall. Very uneven walls or walls suffring from damp or peeling plaster will need to be fixed prior to fitting your wonderwall. Walls with some surface unevenness should be covered with standard lining paper prior to hanging your wonderwall. Newly plastered walls should be coated with a commercially available size first.
Can I clean my wonderwall?
Yes you can. Wonderwalls are fully washable using water or water with a dilute solution of washing up liquid. However, neat alcohol or washing with an abrasive pad can damage the surface of your wonderwall.
